The PermaFloor concrete polishing system uses the natural beauty of concrete to create a durable, low-maintenance floor surface suitable for decorative commercial and heavy-duty industrial applications.

Our process can be used on new or old concrete and actually strengthens the floor by densifying the concrete for added impact and abrasion resistance. Normally porous concrete is tightened up to eliminate ‘dusting’ and repel stains. It’s easy to clean and inexpensive to maintain; never needing waxing or stripping.

PermaFloor concrete polishing is a multiple-step grinding process using progressively finer grit diamond abrasives to achieve the desired level of gloss. Typically the abrasive grit doubles at each step, beginning with 16 or 30 and ending between 800 and 3000 depending on desired sheen.

    Variety of Finishes Available
Finishes possible include matte, satin, semi-gloss and high-gloss. Grinding depth can be varied to expose only the fine grain upper sands, or the underlying aggregate for a terrazzo like finish. Optional color stains are also available for decorative applications.

    Abrasion & Stain Resistant
A chemical densifier applied during the polishing process sinks into, and hardens the concrete giving it increased impact, abrasion and stain resistance. A final sealer locks in the polishing and provides further chemical and stain resistance.

    Slip-Resistant, Low Maintenance
Even though shiny, the final polished concrete is more slip-resistant than ordinary concrete—often exceeding OSHA and ADA standards. The smooth finish also reduces forklift tire wear and greatly reduces tire marks—marks that do occur are easy to clean off.

    Improved Lighting
Ambient lighting can be improved through the increased reflectivity of a polished concrete floor. While the jury is out on whether or not this actually saves energy, it can certainly brighten your facility.

The floor can be put into service immediately after the process is completed.
