  • THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN CONCRETE COUNTERTOPS

    Source:www.stonediamondtool.com Date:2019/10/12 Read:319

Concrete countertops are a popular feature of many kitchens and bathrooms and although concrete is a strong and durable material, it still requires maintenance to keep it clean and at optimal strength. Follow these steps for the best way to clean the surface.

The first rule for cleaning concrete countertops is to use a pH-neutral cleaning agent (it should not be acidic like lemon juice, or alkaline like drain cleaner). Mild dish soap has a pH of 7 or 8, making it an ideal cleaning agent for concrete surfaces. Look for a dishwashing liquid that has a pH of 7 or one that says “mild” or “great for hands” on the bottle.

Avoid using abrasive scrubbing brushes or sponges on the concrete surface. These scrubbers will wear away the concrete surface over time. A soft dishcloth or towel is perfect. Simply dip the cloth in soapy water, wring it out and start cleaning.

How to clean a concrete kitchen countertop

    1. Clean the concrete surface with a damp, soapy dishcloth. Dip the cloth in a soapy water bucket regularly to remove any dirt or food particles from the cloth.

    2. Scrub the concrete countertop with the cloth using a circular motion.

    3. Once you’ve scrubbed the countertop, rinse the cloth thoroughly with clean, warm water.

    4. Wring out the cloth so it’s damp and no longer dripping water.

    5. Wipe the countertops again with the clean, damp cloth to remove any soap bubbles and residue. This should also help to dry the surface quickly.

Repeat these steps every day. Concrete kitchen surfaces should be cleaned on a daily basis, ideally straight after food is prepared to avoid any stains or food particles drying and becoming stuck to the concrete countertop.
