Stone Cleaning and Maintenance

The cleaning and maintenance of stone is not a complicated subject. In fact, stone 

surface can be best cleaned with cleaning equipments and chemicals. It is important 

to use cleaning chemicals that are specifically designed for stone. Many commercial 

conventional cleaning compounds or products available, are labelled as “All Purpose” 

cleaner. However, the chemical reaction of these cleaners or detergents are gradual.

 They will eventually dull the finish of the stone and discolour it over time.

    In general, cleaning frequency and methods are best trialed and set to suit 

individual situation depending on stone finish, volume of traffic, amount of dirt 

or dust built up and accumulated in a given time. Actually these cleaning methods 

just involve very simple procedures that can be instituted into a basic maintenance 

programme. If instituted properly, this maintenance programme will ensure the stone 

surface is properly cleaned and cared for. An exceptional result will most certainly

 be achieved.
