Polycrystalline Diamond PCD PCD coating PCD (Poly – Crystalline – Diamond) is, unlike single crystalline diamond, produced synthetically by sintering together many (Poly) diamond particles, usually in the size of 2 to 30 microns of a meter, with a metal binder (usually Cobalt) at high temperature and high pressure. The rate is 90-95% diamond particles and the rest is Cobalt. Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) is diamond grit that has been fused together under high-pressure, high-temperature conditions in the presence of a catalytic metal. The Polycrystalline Diamonds (PCD) are very heat and fracture resistant, making them a great coating removal tool. Uses PCD with Bar tooling is designed with  bar to prevent the deeper scratching and gouging while still aggressively removing the coatings. It is generally the PCD of choice during prep for a final polished floor or stained and sealed floor. Application PCD with Bar tooling is the fastest way to remove coatings over 2 mils in thickness without harsh chemicals or messy shot blasting. Both PCD’s (Double and Single Bar) stand up well to high heat and are fracture resistant.
